Workout Of The Day - 30th July 2010

I've been having several on days since I finally recovered, and in today's WOD I really felt the fatigue setting in. I shall place tomorrow as a rest day!

Kettlebells - Am really tempted to get one of these but I'm sure there won't be much time for it.

Workout Of The Day - 29th July 2010

Made it a barbell day for today's WOD - back to thrusters and over head squats.

 I want to lift heavy shit!

I'll be ordering weights once the stock arrives at Jiezfit on the 8th August. Probably another 20kg more - that'll bring the current arsenal up from 30kg to 50kg.

WOD
  • 30 barbell thrusters
  • 20 overhead squats
  • 30 push ups
  • 30 air squats
    Will be focusing more on the OHS for this few weeks - midline stability practice! I stopped at 20 OHS because of the pain in the wrists in this overhead position. And I have no clue what is wrong though.

    Workout Of The Day - 28th July 2010

    Not quite a workout, but can take it to be a light workout day - just a run around the block. But I ran pretty fast, a bit like race day conditions. Guess I need just to focus a bit more on running and I shall head off for the annual IPPT.

     I should really stop procrastinating the purchase of more weights.

    This whole Cross Fit thing is beginning to take quite an effect in my life - I really have no pining for the usual sinful Asian food. I'm switching to milk to go along my lunch at work from tomorrow too.

    After much deliberation, I think I shall order as much weights as necessary to get free delivery to my home. That's looking at 15-20kg more of weights. And that will surely come in handy for 'heavier' deadlifts. It'd certainly help the fact that I've only got 30kg's of weights on the barbell at home.

    Workout Of The Day - 25th July 2010

    Was contemplating not going down for WOD today as I was feeling a little heady in the morning still, but considering that I slept for a good 10 hours, I decided to take the plunge, and off I was to Team WOD at Cross Fit Hub!

    Lift heavy shit!

    And now I really feel a lot better - Team WOD's are really fun!

    Rest Day - 24th July 2010

    More like another rest day, and finally, my day off tomorrow! Its been a lot of work over the past weeks. Weekends all spent working, weekdays working till late, and for the whole of this week I was feeling under the weather.

    Thankfully, it should all be coming to an end for now.

    Feeling much better today. Though the annoying headache comes & goes. But overall, good enough for a really short session with the barbell - making it more of active recovery day!

    No Workout Of The Day - 19th to 22nd July 2010

    Wrong food I had at lunch at work on Sunday (shit, I am working 7 days a week) lead me to this 4 days of fever, headache, flu etc.

    It feels really lousy to be feeling under the weather. Good thing is that I'll probably get this weekend off.

    Workout Of The Day - 18th July 2010

    Always never liked the idea of having to work on a Sunday, but today was inevitable - to clear some stuff out before Matt leaves for the States. Glad it all turned out pretty fine, though it took a lot longer than we'd like.

    Yes, I need to work on my mid-line stability.

    Came back and it was raining, so I took a chance to work on skills, i.e. my weakness - mid-line stability, or in other words, overhead squats, while also doing the C&J and barbell thruster for some 'intensity'.

    Today's a messed up day at work, and I still have to work again tomorrow! That means no Cross Fit Hub for me, for a month already. Feeling pretty grumpy about it all.

    Finally made it to a run & sprint. Was literally dragging myself to the run after a deep sleep on the ride home. And fortunately, just starting off into the run made me feel better, and things just got better from then.

    Workout Of The Day - 12th July 2010

    Had a pretty good and short lifting session today - mixture of C&J's and thrusters. Its beginning to feel light so I should really get more weight plates soon, if only I can find the time to do so!

    Rest Day - 11th July 2010



    Today is Rest Day, which happens to be pretty draining as well! Made it down to the beach, and it was a lot more hotter and scorching that expected.



    Did a 1 hour kayak session! And now I'm grilled red all over my body!

    If I am able to leave work tomorrow early, it'd be another run, sprint, pull up, dips and handstand session; otherwise, it'd be another complex WOD like yesterdays!


    I will be returning to Cross Fit Hub this coming Sunday, after a hiatus for 3 sunday sessions, due to work!

    Workout Of The Day - 10th July 2010

    Had lots of good sleep in the afternoon - from after lunch till dinner! To make up for the last 2 weekends of work too. That means my last off day was 3 weeks ago! I feel so much better now, hence, a great complex WOD today!

    • Back squats

    And as I get better I think I really should go get more weight plates! So at least I can hit the RX-ed weight for Men - 95 pounds. From there I can slowly progress to above that - to 105%, 110%, 125%!



      Tomorrow is off to Sentosa for some Kayaking & sun session, followed by a feast with the guys from work at Sunset Way

      Workout Of The Day - 8th July 2010

      The sensation of fatigue and being overworked has been overwhelming the past few days, after having worked through the past 2 weekends.

      I had a workout earlier too this week, but I am seriously not able to recall what I did. I'm thinking, it was a workout in the park on the way home from work. Maybe.

      Anyway, I managed to pick up the barbell today for a pretty nice workout. One of the barbell thrusters didn't go quite as expected and I ended up in a sitting position on the floor with the barbell still in the rack position!

      I want to flip tyres too!

      Workout Of The Day - 4th July 2010

      Today work left me with a really short weekend! But this time next week I should be having Buffalo Wings reputed to be extremely spicy!



      Had some (bad) bread toast, but the good side to it is that there are nice eggs and coffee to match! Dinner was Yong Tau Foo with no noodle, just the soup and the greens and meat. I think I shall have this more often when I eat out from now on, as my quest to eat as Primal/Paleo as I can!
