Workout Of The Day - 31st October 2010

Decided to do a run & sprint as its been a real long time since I last did so. Sure enough, I was quite fatigued by the workout. The sprints felt pretty killer. My own usual circuits alone are killing me, thankfully I didn't go down to Cross Fit Hub today.



WOD
  • Run 2.0km
  • 2 sets of 100m sprints
  • 2 sets of uphill sprints
  • 25 pull ups

Had a good dose of Taiwanese fried chicken cutlet too - my weekly mid-meal. Tomorrow its back to proper, clean food, milk and more workouts!

Its time to re-indulge in training, eating, and sleeping!

Workout Of The Day - 30th October 2010

Did another light workout as I didn't want to ruin my back again. Suprisingly, my back feels great after the huge amounts of sleep I took on Friday & Saturday.

WOD

  • 100 weighted push ups
  • 30 front squats
The dinner with the Floatel guys was great, the alcohol, on the other hand, wasn't. Left me with a huge throbbing headache in the wee hours of Sunday morning.



Now, my feet is suffering from foot-rot as we worked nearly 22hrs a day. This is my worst case of foot rot so far. Was so bad that my socks began to stink quite badly. My boots stink too. Oh shit. I better change my insoles.

Workout Of The Day - 29th October 2010

Finally back onshore, after the Floatel Reliance was signed off by the client today morning. Weeks of little sleep & missed meals really takes it toll on the body, I'm going to work on getting up again. Took a light WOD today at home. My back is still messed up, its been 3 weeks. Hope I didn't mess up anything internal and permanently.

Workout Of The Day - 10th October 2010

Made it an easy day as its going to be sea-borne for me soon, for 1 month - probably the next time I step on shore could be 1 months time from now too!

No more home gym for me for 1 month!

Glad to have caught some good sun yesterday! I hope my fitness won't go so badly downhill from tomorrow. I need just 30-45 min a day at the rig's gym daily to stay in decent condition. Its a floating hotel so the gym should be stocked with a barbell, pull up bar, parallel bars for dips and hopefully large enough for some sprints.
Hoping too that the galley will be stocked with decent meats & greens, coffee & milk!

Workout Of The Day - 7th & 8th October 2010

Yesterday was just pure grogginess after sleeping on the bus ride home, so I couldn't do much.



WOD
  • 50 weighted push ups
  • 50 air squats
Today meant to be a rest day but decided to work on pull ups & muscles ups at the park. The first 2 muscle up attempts (from deadhang position) failed, but it got ok after that.

  • 5 bar muscle ups
  • 30 pull ups

Feeling a bit unwell somehow today, plus the bad back (which means no lifts for the upcoming few days), so took it to weighted bodyweight motions.

Workout Of The Day - 5th October 2010

My back is slightly hurting. Something I did in the deadlifts last time must be wrong!

Couldn't do a front squat. Something is hurting down my lower back.

  • 70 weighted air squats


On hindsight, I miss the cool weather that I enjoyed last week. Refreshing. Going out to Town at 14 degrees Celsius with just 2 shirts, jeans and slippers.

    Workout Of The Day - 3rd October 2010

    Touched down yesterday and got home close to midnight. Planned to go Cross Fit Hub this morning but I couldn't crawl out of bed - it's got to be jetlag!

    Decided to catch some sun at the local public swimming pool while doing some laps. Strained my back a little during the thrusters, from the bad deadlifts I did with Marty during team WOD once, so I had to cut back a bit.



    WOD
    • Swim 600m
    • 40 barbell thrusters
    • 35 weighted push ups
     Bummer, I'll be offshore for 1 month again soon. There goes all my training, will have to build it all up again.
