Workout Of The Day - 30th November 2010

A pretty swell day at work today, but by the time I got home for my WOD my hunger took over so suddenly that I chose to cut my WOD short and went straight to the shower so I could eat as soon as possible. The workout's pretty good still, with the 10kg improvised bumper plates on my back for my push ups.

Workout Of The Day - 29th November 2010

Not too bad a workout today - ramped up on the weighted push ups - and when you don't have the amount of weights to go around to make up the figures, you improvise! With tape, for this case! And it works flawlessly. Upped the weighted push ups from a single 5kg to 2 x 5kg bumper plates, and went pretty strong with it sitting on my back as I knocked out the push ups one after another!

  • 15 push presses
  • 20 deadlifts
Am really glad I did the WOD at Cross Fit Hub yesterday - I'm feeling sore and tight all over, and it rocks!

Workout Of The Day - 28th November 2010

Skipped everything thing else and made it down for Cross Fit Hub - I'm really glad I did so, though I have 'sinned' in doing so!



WOD
AMRAP for 8 min
  • 5 pull ups
  • 5 burpee-donkey-kicks
Rest 2 min
AMRAP for 8 min
  • 10 wall balls
  • 10 wall ball sit ups
Rest 2 min
AMRAP for 8min
  • 10 kettlebell swings
  • 10 push up & dip on parallettes

 Dinner was a simple affair of fried salmon skin (oozing!) and tempura Shitake mushrooms. A light meal considering lunch was 1 and a 1/2 packets of fried Taiwanese chicken cutlets and 1/2 a litre of milk.

Workout Of The Day - 26th November 2010

It's been a long time since I upped the intensity of my WOD's but with work schedules like that, I doubt I'll have the willpower to do so. It'd be greater than 120hours of OT per month from now. Bummer. I'll be missing all the Cross Fit Hub's WODs for a long, long time. I should really explore other career options!

  • 100 weighted push ups
  • 25 push presses
 Well the good part is that the weighted push ups don't feel as 'weighted' as they used to be - its pretty easy knocking them out with the 5kg bumper plate on the traps of my back. I'll need some decent rest (probably this Sunday) before I can go with the 10kg bumper plates for the weighted push ups.

Rest Day - 25th November 2010



Today is Rest Day. No day off since 11 November till now, and lots more of this to go. I'm taking a day off this Sunday as I'm participating in the KeppelGames - 7.15am @ Raffles Institution. I think I'll go lie at the pool the whole afternoon after that.

Workout Of The Day - 23rd & 24th November 2010

Yesterday I was pretty tired, so decided to work on pulling actions instead of the more usually performed push actions in my WODs.

Today isn't much more or less of a WOD, considering by the time I get home its past 930pm and its 7 hours to go before my alarm rings.

Workout Of The Day - 22nd November 2010

Pretty good day at work today, met the daily set targets I made for my team - awesome sensation!

Had a pretty good WOD too! Left knee hasn't been too good so lesser squats before I hurt something!



WOD
  • 100 weighted push ups
  • 20 clean & presses
  • 12 front squats
Scarabeo 9 will be a big challenge but no point will I stop my WOD's. I felt so pysched today after work, and carried it forward to my WOD. It feels awesome!



The paleo in me is telling me to sleep while my mind is wide awake. 13 hours worth spent at work, and no day off since 11th Nov - no wonder it results in this.

    Workout Of The Day - 13th November 2010



    First day of real work onboard the new rig - some decks are still totally unlit & no air - we were all dripping sweat. Least by the end of the day the lights were slowly getting powered up & some fans were up. Its back to work again tomorrow. I foresee this type of 'agony' for the good 6 months ahead, saturdays, sundays, public holidays. But somehow pretty fine with this arrangement, hope I don't burn out soon!

    Today's a light WOD as I'm walking like an old man from the WOD's at Crossfit Hub. I got no idea how the guys manage 5 WOD's a week!

    Workout Of The Day - 7th November 2010

    Had a great WOD today at Crossfit Hub - though I must say I probably had the easiest WOD there. But lots of leg work, not much legs left at the end of the WOD.



    That's 2 Crossfit WOD's in 3 days. I'm aching in most places. Damn powerful feeling. I'll start to focus more on my sprints & pull ups in the weekdays, beginning tomorrow!

    Rest Day - 6th November 2010

    Haing not gone for a WOD at Crossfit Hub for such a long time, I am really feeling the effects of it now - DOMS in the back, scapula and hamstrings - it feels great. Will need to get some decent sleep tonight to be able to go at another WOD again tomorrow, hence its a rest day for me today.



    I eat similar home-cooked dinners for 5-6 times a week. Its fragrant (parsley), it fills me, and its particularly nourishing - pork, chicken strips, celery, parsley, dark leafy greens, carrots, meatballs, hardboiled egg. I can't seem to get enough of it!



    Purchased 4 litres of milk last night. Plus there's dragon fruits, honey mandarins, bananas and 2 bars of chocolates waiting for me. I can't wait to get phat!
